ABOUT THE ROLE
MightyFly is looking for an Electrical Engineer to join our growing team and contribute to the development of one of the world’s largest autonomous cargo aircraft. As an Electrical Engineer at MightyFly, you’ll play a crucial role in designing, developing, and integrating electrical systems that power our innovative hybrid eVTOL aircraft. Our ideal candidate is self-motivated, passionate about hybrid eVTOL aircraft development, and has a strong interest in working in a small, fast paced team where a variety of skills will need to be applied day to day. Your work will have a direct impact on our mission and success.
WHAT YOU’LL DO
- Develop reliable flight electronics for systems including high and low voltage power distribution, powertrain components, I/O interfaces, data acquisition
- Integrate custom and third-party avionics systems.
- Work closely with mechanical, software, and flight test teams to develop test stands and conduct experiments
- Design and fabricate wire harnesses to ensure reliable electrical connections.
- Generate technical drawings of systems, components, and interfaces
WHAT YOU’LL BRING
Technical
- Bachelor’s degree in electrical engineering with 1+ years of experience as a hands-on Electrical Engineer
- Strong knowledge of electrical circuits including analog and digital electronics, power circuits, sensor signal conditioning
- PCB design experience including schematic capture, board layout, component selection, bring-up, and test
General
- A passion for building systems from the ground up
- A can-do attitude for tackling and solving complex problems
- Be a self-starter with the ability to work and thrive in a dynamic and fast-paced environment
- Great documentation skills
Planning & Partnering
- Ability to plan and deliver on time
- Ability to translate product requirements into technical implementation plans
- Excellent technical communication skills
- Organizational Skills
Nice to have
- Educational background or work experience in high performance vehicles (electric or hybrid vehicles, race vehicles, Solar Car, Formula SAE)
- Experience with data communication protocols like CAN, SPI, I2C, etc.
- Experience with microcontrollers and embedded software.
- Experience with batteries and battery management systems
